Oh my GOODNESS, the BLESSINGS!

Hey!
7-11

Serious Gs

So... Sister Naitoko came out of the bathroom. She was like, "what the heck is this, Sister Walker?" I told her what it was and asked what she had thought it was. She told me, "well, I don't know. It had a hole in it so I just figured you put your head in it!" Hahaha. :)

Ahhh Yeah The Package arrived

Transfer News
Hey girl heeeeey!

This week has been another great one! On Tuesday I finally got my package, woo hoo! :) Thanks mom and dad! We had a zone meeting that day where Sister Naitoko and I had been asked to do a training about finding hope through the atonement. I've never done a training before, so there were so many ants in my pants the whole time! It ended up going really well though, so I was glad that we did it. :) The other sisters who live in our apartment complex also started coming over that day to do T25 with us, so our apartment has become a gym in the mornings. It's the best! Anyhoo, we went to a member's house for dinner that night where one of the members invited her friend, Gene, to come over as well. We ended up teaching him the restoration and he accepted everything so well! I was so excited! :) However, his parents grounded him because he took a Book of Mormon, so we probably won't get to meet with him anymore. :( So sad.

On Wednesday we met with this less-active drug-addict lady, which is always a good time. She was actually pretty calm this time and had remembered a lot of what we had talked about with her before, so that was really exciting! :) She also wants to come to church, but she won't come until she can find something pretty enough to wear. Hopefully she'll find something soon!

A few days later, Sister Naitoko and I went to go meet with a bunch of less-actives again. We went to one of their houses and the lady was a MESS. She explained to us that her sister had come over and stolen everything that she owned! Can you imagine?? She was so heartbroken and didn't know what to do. She didn't really have time to meet with us either, so we just offered to pray with her. As soon as we started praying, she calmed down and was able to feel peace through her trial that she was going through. I was so happy to have been a part of that! Saturday was also transfer call day! Sister Naitoko and I will be staying together another transfer, woo hoo! :) I'm so happy, because last transfer wasn't that great and I really want to have a good transfer with her. So thank goodness for that, eh?

Last Sunday, Sister Naitoko and I made a goal to start fasting every Sunday. So yesterday we fasted and oh my GOODNESS, the BLESSINGS! I had been praying to be able to feel the Spirit more, especially during our teaching. We went to a member's house that night and decided to read Alma 7:11-13 with them. As soon as I began reading the scripture out loud to them, the Spirit filled the room. I was so taken aback! I hadn't even said any of my own words, but by just reading from the Book of Mormon, there was a sense of peace throughout the whole room. I am so thankful for the Book of Mormon and for the joy and peace that it brings into our lives. I think that a lot of the time, we take it for granted and try to find happiness in other places, forgetting that all of the answers to our prayers and all of the comfort that we need is right in front of us. We really are the luckiest, eh? :)

Anyway, thanks for all that you all do for me! :) I miss and love you all so much and I'll talk to you next week!

Hi again! :)

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD! :D Second of all, I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU, BRANDON!! YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO FRENCH!! :D

This week has been a week of ILLNESS! It all started out on Monday when one of the Spanish speaking sisters in our apartment complex got the stomach flu! They had a dinner appointment that night and didn't want to cancel on them, so we went on an exchange and I got to go instead! :) Woo hoo, Spanish people! :) It was fun to hear them all going wild in Spanish and not being about to understand all of it haha. We went back home afterward and waited for her companion to die, but she didn't and all is well now! Woo hooooo!

The next day was CANADA DAY!! :) HAPPY CANADA DAAAAAAY!! :D We ended up having to go buy Sister Naitoko new shoes since hers fell apart and she isn't allowed to wear flip-flops. We aren't on the island anymore, Toto. So we went and bought her what she calls her "babooshka shoes" and they have caused her so much PAIN! Seriously, she wore them for less than an hour the next day and ended up having bruises on the back of her feet, blisters everywhere, and now she walks like a babooshka. Poor BabooshkaNaitoko. :( Regardless, I loved Canada Day. :)

On Wednesday we also stopped by Ashley's house, the girl who loves anime. Most of the time she drives me a little bit crazy, but that day I just LOVED her. I was so happy to get to see her and spend time with her. :) Unfortunately though, her hamster died while we were there, so that was awkward. Did I tell you all about the time Sister Ford and I went to babooshka's house and her cat died? Man, I am just killing off everyone's animals. Dang it. We also stopped by a babooshka's house and she had us feed her PIG! I never knew how much pigs could eat, but they just go wild like there is no tomorrow. Sister Naitoko kept telling me about how much she wanted to cook it in the ground and eat it because it was so fat hahaha. :)

The next day a member invited us to go to Cold Stone (he works there) and get free ice cream!! :D Woo hoooo! But unfortunately, Sister Naitoko's feet were dying afterward and so I'm not sure whether or not the trek was worth it. It was quite good though!

Friday was the fourth of July!! :) Woo hooooooo! The bishop had all of the missionaries come over and pass out 700 free hot dogs to people. It was so much fun to get to talk to everyone and make their days better! :) I love hot doooooooooogs! We ended up not being able to see any fireworks though. :( We tried and tried to creep out of our window to see some, but we had no such luck. Maybe next year, eh?

On Saturday we went to the soup kitchen. I was working in the clothes section when one of the homeless people came up to me and said, "Sister Walker! Sister Walker! I just wanted to let you know that you are very pretty. Have a great day!" And then he walked away! It was so nice. :) After the soup kitchen though, Sister Naitoko could hardly even walk, so the mission nurse just told us to stay inside for the weekend. Bummer, eh? She's feeling a ton better now though, so I suppose it was very much needed.

Yesterday was testimony meeting, woo hooo! I decided to go up and testify. I was praying beforehand that I would be an answer to someone's prayer through my own testimony and that I would be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I had planned to bear a really quick testimony about the atonement without any stories or anything, but as I went up and began talking, I realized that I was in the middle of telling a personal story from my mission. I RARELY cry when I testify anymore, but I couldn't even help it. As I went to go sit down, I felt so embarrassed for crying in front of everyone and for telling a story that I didn't even really want to share. However, the next person that went up to speak started off by saying that I had answered a very specific prayer that she had through my testimony. Whaaaat?? And THEN another sister came up to me afterward and told me that it had been an answer to her prayers as well! I was so blown away that Heavenly Father answered MY prayers and used me to answer the prayers of others. I'm so grateful for Him and for His love in my life. :)

That's it for this week! :) Thank you for all that you do for me and for all of the LETTERS! Oh MAN I am just loving getting these hand-written letters! :) Thank you!

Anyhoo, I love you all and hope that you have a great week! :)

Quote of the week, "This is Stink!"

Hello again! :)

This week hasn't been the most eventful, but it's still been a good one! :)

On Monday we played soccer as a zone. Sister Naitoko had never played soccer before, so she was trying really hard to figure out what was going on the whole time. Eventually she came up to me looking very angry and whispered, "Sister Walker. This is stink." She and I will never be playing soccer again!

A couple of days later, we went to a member's house to clean their pool! :) It was soooo fun! I have never cleaned a pool before, but I could do it all day err day. Really, you just sweep the stuff to the middle and then the thingy just vacuums it up! It's like magic! If anyone with a pool is reading this, let me clean your pool when I get home. The end.

The rest of the week, we really focused on meeting with less-active members. We ended up having five lessons with them in one day, which is pretty unheard of in our area haha. It felt so good just to go out and help them. :) The cool part though is that a TON of them were at church on Sunday! :) AHH! I was so happy to see that I really have made a difference here and that people are changing because of the gospel. There really is no greater work in the world. :)

Other than that though, my companions were pretty sick for most of the week so we didn't get to do a lot. I was still happy to be here serving the Lord though. :)

Anyway, thanks for all that you do! I love you all and I'll talk to you next week!

xoxo

Also, random...
In other news, what is with all of the members want me to marry their sons who are on missions? It's so wild; at least three of them have tried to get me to email their sons this week! AHH! NO! I need to FOCUS and not marry your son via myldsmail.net! Seriously! But other than the awkwardness of it all, it's pretty funny.
